This couple was so great to work with! I made two great new friends. They are planning their life together. Plans include a suite above the shop on a lot that has room for a single family home when the time is right. When that home is built, Mom will move into the suite. Brilliant!

This couple had their plans just how they wanted them until.............We added a room to serve as a nursery/office/guest room to accommodate the new little one that is on the way.

This place has such character and just needs a little TLC. An interesting challenge to plan the renovations: I had to draw the plans and cross sections at the same time to understand how far from the walls the furniture has to sit due to the sloped walls.

COLD CLIMATE HOUSING
I find this really interesting (although I am in the building field for a reason, right) The Cold Climate Housing Research Center (CCHRC) in Fairbanks Alaska is building prototype houses for the, that's right, cold climate.

SHOP LOCAL
I love this stone, not only is it beautiful but local here on the Kenai Peninsula. I have been told that if you camp at one of the sites next to the ocean in Hope, Alaska, that you can go out when the tide is out and harvest your own hope stones. If you prefer, the other option is Hope Stone LLC, which provides exceptional quality stone products to Alaskans which are otherwise scarcely available from in state suppliers.

NEW YEAR, TINY CHANGES?
Someone took my card at an Expo because she wants to build a tiny house on a trailer. This was brought to my attention and now I am more interested than I thought to dive into the tiny house design and drafting.
